This piece was created with love, admiration, and deep respect.

I've always held a profound admiration for Haitian women who embody strength, resilience, and unconditional love in ways that often go unnoticed. Their lives are filled with challenges that many people never take the time to truly understand. Yet despite those hardships, they continue to move forward with courage and dignity.

Many of these women walk long distances every single day under intense heat, sometimes for hours, carrying heavy loads with the sole purpose of providing for their families. Their journeys are not only physical but also emotional. Each step they take represents sacrifice, determination, and an unbreakable commitment to the people they love. Even in moments of exhaustion or hunger, they often choose to put their children first. They would rather endure discomfort themselves as long as their children are able to eat, learn, and have a chance at a better future. That level of selflessness is something truly powerful.

Today, their lives are even more complex as they must also navigate growing insecurity and uncertainty. Yet through all of this, their spirit remains strong. Their perseverance is inspiring, and their quiet strength deserves recognition and appreciation.

This artwork is my tribute to them.

The piece is born from a blend of raw imagination and inspiration from a photograph of one of these queens. While the image that inspired me was powerful on its own, I allowed my creativity to interpret the emotion behind it.

More than anything, this piece is a celebration of Haitian women. Their sacrifices, their courage, and the beauty of their resilience. It is my small way of honoring the strength they carry every day, often without recognition, yet with extraordinary grace.
